The First Step: Irys Genesis NFT Collection

We're distributing 999 NFTs to people who contributed most to Irys during our testnet period. Free to claim starting November 13, 2025 at 3:00 AM EST.

This article will cover everything you need to know about the collection distribution and launch.

What You Get

Only 999 of these exist, and they’re soulbound to your wallet - they cannot be transferred or sold. You were here during formation. Your contribution during that time is part of our company's history, and we're grateful for it (and you).

How to Claim

Launch: November 13, 2025 at 3:00 AM EST
Initial claim window: until November 14, 2025 at 10:00 PM EST
Extended claiming: Weekend (November 15-17)
Final close: November 17, 2025 at 9:00 AM EST
Chain: Ethereum (migrated to Irys Mainnet once live)
Cost: Free

Claiming works in two phases:

If you're eligible, you have 48 hours to claim starting November 13 at 3:00 AM EST. After that window closes, any unclaimed NFTs will be opened to additional whitelist addresses on a first-come, first-serve basis throughout the weekend. The mint closes completely Monday morning, November 17 at 9:00 AM EST.

When claiming opens, visit genesis.irys.xyz, connect your wallet, and follow the prompts. If you're eligible, you'll be able to claim. If not, the page will tell you.

Note: All NFTs will be revealed on mainnet launch day, TBA on official channels.

Who Got Selected

Five hundred NFTs were raffled off to our most active contributors during the Bitomo Campaign — a fun experiment we ran with our community where we utilized Irys's Mutable Reference function to create NFTs that evolved based on rules we programmed into them, largely tied to contribution within our community over the campaign time.

The remaining NFTs went to our most active overall contributors across our community's history. The simplest way to have gotten an NFT was to consistently show up to our community events and participate in our campaigns where we've given them away, although this was a very small percentage. The majority of these 499 were manually reviewed and allocated by our team internally.

We called this collection "First Steps" because that's what it represents: the beginning of something new. Something that we genuinely believe will make an enormous impact on the way applications are built onchain, at a time when data specifically is more valuable than it's ever been.

The 999 people receiving these NFTs showed up when the timeline was uncertain and the outcome unproven. You believed in Irys and the team behind the brand.
